Promenade and Donate for a Discount

We have our window display finished and have been organizing and restocking all of the goodies at Vitae. It's starting to feel a lot like Christmas in the East Village.

This Friday is the Holiday Promenade. There are a lot of kid friendly activities as well as food and drinks for the adults in most of the stores. There is also a festive window decorating contest so be sure to cast your vote.

Since we have some great dog items at Vitae we have decided to do a dog themed holiday window.  Here's a sneak peek. I'll post the final photo this weekend.

Since we are all about the pets we chose to partner with Furry Friends Refuge this year.  Check out the details below.  What a great way to give and get some holiday shopping done at the same time!

Holiday Promenade in the East Village

Tomorrow night, December 19th, is the annual Holiday Promenade in the East Village. This will be a first for Vitae and we have been busy preparing. There are a lot of new warm and cozy items in the store! Along with warm clothes we will have some yummy food courtesy of Hu Hot in Ankeny and some holiday treats. We will also have the Conley Brothers (my little bros) playing us some old time music later in the evening. All of the stores will be open and offering treats and/or entertainment. There will also be festive caroling, horse and carriage rides, fireworks and ice skating!

We hope to see everyone out in the East Village tomorrow night!

Events in Des Moines

This is a great week to enjoy some art in Des Moines.  The Des Moines Art Festival starts this Friday and goes through Sunday.  When you're at the festival stop into The Instinct Gallery on Locust and check out the munny toy that Joshua designed as well as some other amazing artwork. Also stop into Vitae and look at the artwork from our Female Trouble show, featuring 7 talented ladies and purchase some apparel from local designers.  Acanthus has some fun tank tops and dresses.

 

A couple of other events that you don't want to miss... 80/35 music festival on July 3rd and 4th, where Art Noir and Vitae will have booths, and St. Vitus and the Taxi Dancers will be performing! On July 11th the Vitae ladies and some friends will be the designers in a pin-up themed show titled Emergence at the Des Moines Social Club.
